REVIEW:

When I saw Dani’s post with the Blog Tour on this book, I was intrigued by the blurb and the sample chapter. I couldn’t wait to read Tovin and Garvey’s story.

But, unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Tovin and Garvey are kind of an afterthought, in my opinion, in this book. They appear from time to time, but not as major players. I’m not even sure who the major players were supposed to be. There were so many characters and storylines going on, that I never got comfortable as to whose story I was reading.

There is a lot going on in the story, and frankly I’m guessing it must be set-up for future books. After spending the time to read this one, and then getting to a cliffhanger ending, I’m not sure those future books will be in my future.

I think the author tried to get too many stories going at once, and it hurt the overall story in my opinion. I was left feeling slightly confused. There were werewolves that ate humans, there were rival werewolf ‘gangs’, and there were vampires. Then from left field, there was mention of dragons and doorways, and other planets, and Earth being like the last untouched human world? I was so confused.

The book really wasn’t for me. Honestly, if I hadn’t had it for a review, I probably would have given it to my DNF (did not finish) pile. I’ll let you make your own opinion on it. If you read it, and can explain it to me, please do. For now, I’m just going to say it fit our “It was OK” rating level. It was okay. There were parts that drew me along, but there were more that didn’t.
