REVIEW:
Kyle and Brent are two men from completely different worlds and Kyle has a hard time forgetting it. They meet through mutual friends and Kyle is combative and rude to Brent most of the time, to say the least.
But Brent likes Kyle and when an unexpected opening to help pops up, he takes advantage of the time it provides for them to spend together to get to know Kyle and show him that being from different sides of the tracks doesn’t mean that there isn’t a way for them to find some common ground.
Watching these two circle around each other is painful at times. You just want to shake them both, although mostly Kyle and tell them to get their heads out of their asses. It takes some times and a lot of conversation for them to finally figure out how to meet in the middle.
Kyle is kind a jerk a lot, but Brent seems to be the person who can see through his charade and find the patience needed to deal with him. Sometimes I wasn’t sure who I felt sorrier for. Kyle isn’t always proud of his behaviour but he has a hard time changing it. Brent wants to badly to get Kyle to see the real him and when they start to finally reach each other, it’s very sweet.
Of course, there’s the sex. It’s hot and very well written and I could have read about 25 more chapters of it.
I just wish it could have slowed down a little bit. It’s a short story though and while I liked it, it was missing a little something because it lacked anticipation.
But it’s sweet with a lovely ending and if you need a smile to brighten your day, this story will definitely do it.
