Hello! I’m Elyse, and welcome to the blog tour for my new release, Whiteout! This is the first book in the Seasons of Love series, and I can’t wait to introduce you to Noah and Jason.

Hogwarts Houses

I always create backstory for my characters—even the secondary ones— and try to give each character a unique personality. One of my favorite ways to do this is to determine their Hogwarts House. You can tell a lot about a person (even a fictional one) by knowing which House they’d be in, and the four primary characters in Whiteout are no different!

whiteoutJason - Hufflepuff

Jason:

Jason is incredibly hard-working, and has made a name for himself as a high-profile investment broker in Manhattan—not an easy feat! But he’s also loyal… sometimes to a fault. At one point my amazing editor, Caz, called Jason a “precious cinnamon roll”, and I can definitely agree with her on that one.

whiteoutNoah - Slytherin

Noah:

While I think it’s difficult to see Noah’s cunning and ingenuity when he first wakes up with amnesia, some of his Slytherin traits still shine through. He’s very good at picking up on other people’s attempts to hide things from him, and he’s adaptable: Noah becomes the person he needs to be, depending on the situation.

whiteoutSara - Gryffindor

Sara:

We don’t get to see Sara much until the second half of the book, but her fierce love of her friends and the way she doesn’t shy away from things that scare her makes her a total Gryffindor in my book. (You’ll see more of this in Heat Wave!)

whiteoutAbigail - Ravenclaw

Abby:

Is it a stereotype to make the librarian a Ravenclaw? Maybe, but Abby’s love of stories and reading is only one of the reasons she would be sorted into this House. Abby approaches every situation knowing that she can learn something from it, and her advice is always rational, reminding people to take a step back and think it through.

It’s pure coincidence that all four Houses are represented in Whiteout, but I think it gives a nice balance for the characters, personality-wise.

Which Hogwarts House would you be sorted into?

About Whiteout

Noah Landers wakes up one day with a headache and no memory of where—or who—he is. Jason, the man taking care of him, tries to fill in some of the blanks: they’re in a cabin in Colorado on vacation, and Noah slipped on ice and hit his head. But even with amnesia, Noah knows Jason is leaving out something important.

Jason O’Reilly is sexy as hell, treats Noah like he’s precious, and seems determined to make this the romantic getaway they’d apparently dreamed of together. But Noah’s more concerned that he’s trapped alone with Jason in the middle of a blizzard while his slowly returning memories bring hints of secrets and betrayal.

Noah’s not sure what’s the truth and what’s a lie.  But as he learns who he is—and who Jason is to him—he’s forced to reevaluate everything he believes about himself, about loyalty . . . and about love.

  1. WHOA! A fellow Harry Potter fan. 😉

First & foremost, CONGRATS on your new release, Miss Springer!!!

This first installment of Seasons of Love series immediately caught my attention the first time I’ve seen it up for preorder on Riptide… What? This is the first time that I’d come across an MM novel where the idea of amnesia was incorporated! It sounds so good & I like how the characters are sorted to their houses. I didn’t know that Hufflepuffs are the hardworking bunch in Hogwarts, tho. (Sue me. *winks*)

I think I have an idea of what Jason is hiding from Noah. I hope I’m not right, tho ’cause that would be a heartwrenching fact to know.

Thanks for coming by to Love Bytes Reviews, Miss Springer! <3

  2. Happy release day, Elyse! So excited to start this series. As to your question, I got sorted to Gryffindor on Pottermore, though frankly I’m more of a Slytherin by nature.. ;-))

  7. When I’ve asked my friends which house they wouod put me in, I get all different answers! I see myself as more Slytherin and that’s house I sorted on Pottermore.

The premise of your novel has definitely piqued my interest, and my snake side can easily imagine many secret scenarios!

    Look forward to reading it!
