Congrats on the new release and thanks for the excerpt. I love the cover. You immediately see that the story is set in London, one of my favorite cities.
It is not really an excentric habit, but I tend to wash up immediately the pots, pans and utensils when I am cooking. My son always comments on it (maybe a bit OCD as well).

Congratulations on the new release, Clare. That’s an amazing cover. My most eccentric home habit… Well, I have several, but I guess what would surprise more to an unsuspecting visitor is that my house is full of half destroyed cardboard boxes…There are at least two in each room, all surrounded by their detritus. They are my kitty’s favourite toys, and I indulge her happily. That’s why my house always looks like a real mess, no matter how much I clean! 😉

I like this concept of neat & slob pair up. 😀 London’s one of my favorite cities in the world so reading this would be gratifying, I guess? 😉

When I was a kid, I used to arrange the hangers by their colors after I folded the newly-washed clothes. Glad that I’d lost that habit or my friends might have a little freak out episode. LOL!

Now that I’m on my twenties, I have this habit of collecting my old quizzes that act as references for my exams.

Thanks for coming by to Love Bytes, Clare! <3

I hate to admit it but I’m a bit like Russ. At any given moment there are dishes in the sink and the table is covered by mail and work papers. My husband insisted on hiring cleaners to come in twice a month and I have to clean before they get here.
The book sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for the giveaway!

Sounds like a great story. It is like The Odd Couple. At my house I live by the pile theory which drives my hubby up a tree. Do not touch my piles as I know what is in every one.

    Congratulations on re-releasing your book.
I don’t know if it’s eccentric, but people look odd at me, when I ask them to take off their shoes before entering my flat. I also tend to wash the dishes under running water, because I don’t like to have my hands in dirty dish water.

    Congrats on the re-release!

I have a similar habit to Tanja in that I wash dishes as I cook. And if my husband is cooking, I wash as he cooks. It makes me a bit anxious to have dirty dishes sitting in the sink just getting dirtier. I am also a big list maker. For example, whenever we travel, I have a spreadsheet I re-use for preparation and packing items.

    Most eccentric home habit…

Probably going into the trash cans and removing the recycling items my husband has tossed.

He knows I do this but it doesn’t seem to stop him!

Love doesn’t conquer all, I guess.

Congratulations on the new book! I have a habit of cleaning up as I cook. So, things are being made and cleaned up as I go. It makes it easier for me, but I imagine it looks crazy to someone on the outside since as my hubby puts it, “How do you know you won’t need that yet?”.

I arrange the clothes in my hanging wardrobe by the “occasion”. The work clothes on the left and casual clothes on the right.

I really like the concept of this book as well as the cover, added to my TBR list.
The dogs cannot go the bedrooms and bathroom because my mum doesn’t like that they get on the bed. Instead of closing the doors, we have some sort of wooden boards that we can go over them but the dogs can’t. It’s so embarrassing when we have visits and they ask about them, LOL.

I read the first edition and enjoyed it immensely and am glad to see it rereleased. I’m a bit of an organized mess. I’m a bit of a minimalist like Martin but in area’s like my computer desk and closet you can see an oraginzied mess of paperwork cluttering the surface and in the closet clothes may be left on top of a bin or shelf

I relate to Susana’s comment, except I hoard padded envelopes…I always figure I’ll need something to mail a book in!
