REVIEW:

So, when I found out that Mary Calmes wrote a sequel to Romanus, and that Greg Tremblay narrated the audiobook, I may have freaked out a tiny bit. Especially when I found that it was available for review. If you have read (or listened to) Romanus, then you know how excited I was to get my hands on this. If you haven’t read it, no worries, I won’t judge. But, you really should. *winks*

Well, Mason James has started coming to terms with the fact that he is not fully human, but a Romanus. Meaning, he is a very rare type of gargoyle; one that does not shift at all, and appears entirely human. For many in the Gargoyle world, this is highly valued. But for others, Romanus are seen as an abomination.

Mason grew up as an orphan, never knowing his family, or even anything about them. Until now… Turns out that Mason’s father is essentially royalty in the Gargoyle world, and insists on him flying to meet them in their home country where they live. Good thing that Mason refuses to go unless Luc, his boyfriend (and essentially the other half of Mason’s soul) join him.

What happens next is the stuff of fairy tales. Well, being a rare form of Gargoyle is the stuff of fairy tales too, but it doesn’t sound so poetic. *winks* Anyhoo… What happens when Mason and Luc meet Mason’s family? Does Mason’s father have a hidden agenda when it comes to Mason’s visit? Does Mason’s father also subscribe to the belief that Romanus are an abomination and should be eradicated? What about Mason himself? Will he finally be able to find out what it means to be a Romanus? Do get the story and find out!

Greg Tremblay makes an already fantastic story come to life in such vivid color. His narration is spot on, and brilliant. And, don’t get me started on how absolutely fantastic Mary Calmes is. Wow, Mary! You have another wonderful story in Romanus. Thank you very much for gifting us all with your talents, Greg and Mary.
