REVIEW:

I must tell you right up front, that this was one of those books where I sputtered, swore, and got really damn grumpy at the characters on more than one occasion. There were times that they were just downright irritating. In other words, a book that kept me reading because I had to know what happened. I had to see if Chris would ever stop being a whiney little B word. And I had to find out what was up with the broken Dante.

This was a very well written book, and I enjoyed the story. Chris Sinclair is on summer break from college, and falls into a summer dream job. He will get to fly to Europe and be a somewhat ‘babysitter’ to a famous young violinist. He recently heard the violinist perform and was captivated by his performance. When he got a chance to meet the performer after the concert, there was some sort of strange connection, which ended too soon. But then he is offered this job…the money is really good, and did I mention the free travel all over Europe for the summer? Chris hasn’t felt much of anything since his mother passed away from cancer, and he is just stumbling through life and making the motions. This might be the distraction he needs to finally move on.

Dante Heron is the gifted performer. Off on a European Tour, his longtime friend and mentor Lara suggests the young man he met after his concert as a traveling companion. He agrees, and when Chris accepts the job, they are all off to Europe.

Talk about dysfunctional. Dante is flying through a chain of floozies in every new city they arrive at. But he is ending up sleeping in Chris’ bed more often than not. Just sleeping.

The two men are complete opposites in most ways, but in one way…communication, they are very alike. Neither one wants to open up and share their secrets with the other. It makes for a good read. As I said at the top these characters had me swearing out loud, and loud enough to make the cat give me stink eye because he thought I was swearing at him!

I liked this book a lot, and will be interested to see what comes next in this series. I recommend you give it a try.
