I felt a passion for graduate school that would not let me do anything but work my best and hardest. Working 12+ hours a day 7 days a week was a minor issue. Unfortunately, every so often I would break down emotionally because I wasn’t take care to relax and do any self-care. It was worth it in the end, but I don’t think I would do it that way now thay I’m older (and hopefully, wiser).

Self care is so important! Your story resonates with me. When a story comes on and won’t let me go, I an so thankful for my family poking me and making me eat and slack off enough to watch some TV or read a book.

      Thanks for stopping by, Jen!

I’ve been in love many times, but unfortunately passion died and love eventually did as well. Nowadays, my passion is working with abandoned animals in my local shelter. I volunteer there looking after dogs, cats and even horses sometimes, and I thing their love is one that never lets you down…

Susana, I got my current (and first) dog from the local pet save. He is a dream, and his foster family did a wonderful job of making him feel at home inside. You do much needed work. Thank you!

I must say that I am not very much passionate person. But I do have passion to travel more and see other places outside my country (Indonesia). Solo travel is the best. When I can afford traveling, I just feel so free. This year I have a chance to visit Vietnam. Next year I will try to go to Taiwan. Writing down itinerary, checking out transportation/accommodation is one of the best things to do as well ^^

You are so lucky to get to visit those places, Ami! I like travelling as well, but it’s usually just to the states, and for conferences. Those are fun, but there’s not as much time to look around as I might like. I hope you have a great time when you go.

I can’t say I have the need or drive to pursue or do anything. It’s hard for me to get excited about things when I’m more the type of person who does something just to get it done with.

There is something to be said for the satisfaction of getting through your to-do list, HB. I confess its something I rarely accomplish. Maybe being thorough and finishing your tasks *is* your passion?

If the one that I loved felt the need to follow something, I would not stand in their way. I had a passion for teaching for teaching science that lasted for along time.

Support from those closest is definitely a boon, Debby. I know I would not be able to accomplish half of what I do if i didn’t have that. Science is not something I know much about, but my son finds it fascinating and he has a wonderful teacher who makes it exiting and fun for him. I can’t say how much I appreciate that.

Please tell your son you aren’t the only one to ‘forget him.’ My excuse was he was coming home from a football game on a band trip and I fell asleep on the couch waiting to go get him. (This was before cell phones.) His band instructor and band mates left him in the cold outside waiting for a parent to come and get him. Needless to say his feelings of abandonment continue to this day.

I cannot believe his teacher left him there!

We couldn’t either! I’m sure now days someone would have been suing someone else for abandonment or neglect! I’m just glad we lived in a small, safe town.
