Hello, all! Thank you so much for joining me for this month’s Love Bytes author column. Things are finally moving along in my writing. I suffered a bit of a setback which caused some delays, as can happen with us writer folk, but I’m very happy with the progress I’ve been making, and even feel like I may be catching up on some things. It’s hard to believe it’s already September, though I imagine a good number of people are looking forward to seeing the back of 2016. It’s been a weird year, and rough on a lot of people. Here’s hoping 2017 blows this year out of the water.
So what’s happening? I thought I’d post a little update on what I’m working on and what’s heading this way. I just submitted Thick & Thin: A THIRDS Universe Novella (Sequel to Smoke & Mirrors). If all goes well and the story’s accepted, this would release in February, a couple of months or so before Book 8, which is Seb and Hudson’s book. Why a novella? When you’re writing a series like the THIRDS, one with so many characters, plot points, storylines, and POVS, there are times when things don’t work out quite as you intended. I could steeple my fingers and say, “Muahahaha, everything is going according to my evil author plan.” But that’s not always the case. Certain events were meant to be in book 8. Certain cheesy doodle crunching agents, or say, one cheesy doodle crunching agent had more drama to work through than was fair to put in a book focused on another couple’s romance.
So Thick & Thin happened, because anyone who knows Dex and Sloane, know that things are never as simple as they should be. The fact is there are lots of changes coming. The new series has been revealed for next year, but there’s still the main series to wrap up, and that means making sure the reader has everything they need before they follow Dex and Sloane onto their next adventures.
Before Thick & Thin, we have volume 2 of THIRDS Beyond the Books. My royalties for this eBook will also be going to Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida. This is out October 12th. In November we have the release of The Soldati Prince which was originally published as a short story in the Charmed and Dangerous anthology last August. It’s been extended to novella length, more than double the original word count. It contains additional content, including more plot, story, and romance. I’m also looking forward to writing Toka and Rayner’s story. The Soldati Prince is the first book in the Soldati Hearts series which is being released through Dreamspinner Press. This is a shifter story, but more Fantasy than Paranormal. We’ll be seeing more of these guys in the future.
In December we have the 5th book in the North Pole City Tales series, Disarming Donner. This sweet story is about Rein Dear pilot Donner, and Dockalfar elf Calder. As we get nearer to Rudy and Jack’s wedding, North Pole City is in a state of unrest at having a dark elf in their midst.
Right now I’m working on edits, getting ready for YaoiCon, and writing Seb and Hudson. In February I’ll be attending Coastal Magic Conference in Daytona. In March the Paris Book Fair. In May I plan to attend the RT Convention, and in July RWA. There may be additional conference, but I should know more next year. In the meantime, I’m certainly keeping busy. 😉

OMG, so excited to hear about the new THIRDS novella. Awesome news! Never enough of my favorite cheesy doodle crunching troublemaker. Can’t wait for Seb & Hudson’s story as Smoke & Mirrors really stoked the fire for those two. 2017 is a winner already!! 2016 was great for new THIRDS books plus the upcoming Soldati Hearts series and Disarming Donner books. Totally ready for 2017; this year has been troubling on many fronts. The bright note has been the release of so many great books. The latest stories from the THIRDS universe have been at the top of my favorites-list. Looking forward to Thick and Thin, and want you to know how much I appreciate the support you give to the Big Cat Rescue in my home state.
