I love the books of Felice Stevens, so if she recommends this new-to-me author, I’m sold!

I was amazed at your story and felt so bad for you. Amazon is money hungry and yet everyone supports them.

Thanks for sharing your story & thanks for starting GRL. I so hope to be able to attend one year. Hopefully it will be somewhere close enough I’ll be able to take a long weekend or I’ll have vacation time so I can afford to take time off for an extended visit.

I love your work. I am so sorry this has happened to you. Hopefully you will have the wherewithal to write more soon. I have been missing your books and wondering what had happened.

Thank you for sharing your story with us. The economy is really crappy and employers are picky too. I wish you luck!

Atlanta was my first GRL. I brought my daughter to Chicago and San Diego. This year she will come with me again. My cousin and his partner are also planning to come. So it really is becoming like a family reunion for me.

And I’m just a reader (yes I said that) but it’s true. I enjoy my just a reader status. Thank you Carol for starting this crazy little thing called GRL.

Carol I had no idea. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. Unfortunately the world is a very unstable place. The work I thought I’d be doing until I retired has kind of dried up. I’ve been lucky to land in a place where I can acquire new skills so that hopefully I can still manage to support myself and not become a bad lady when I retire.

While there are many things I like about Amazon, I worry about the impact they are having on a lot of things – brick & mortar stores, customer service, the ability of vendors to survive with cut-throat pricing (ala WalMart), monopolization of markets to name a few. I have friend who work for UPS and the impact to their business and the hours they are expected to work have been pretty life altering. Now with amazon buying their own trucking company, who knows what’s coming next.

Best of luck to you in finding employment. It’s not easy. I have changed jobs 3 times in the last 4 years and now at 53, I don’t ever want to have to do it again although that might not be very realistic.

Thank you for your bravery in sharing your story. Wishing you nothing but success going forward.

Big hugs to you Carol and I know what you mean! But I love your stories, and the Seasons of Love series is still one of my all-time favorites – I was so thrilled when I saw it was included in the WHSmith run 🙂

Oh Miss Carol Lynne – my dear friend, if anyone deserves a happy ending it is you. So looking forward to seeing you in Oct in Kansas City – and ‘Spring’ is a gem. Folks if you haven’t read it – do so now! Hugs JP
