REVIEW:

I thought while I was on a treadmill at the gym yesterday would be a great time to start reading this latest installment in the Firsts and Forever series from Ms. Alexa Land.  Have you ever been at a gym very early in the morning, and had some guy in the back row of the treadmills giggling maniacally for no reason whatsoever?  Well, if so, we might share a gym.  The opening pages of this one had me actually laughing out loud, and I’m not talking the fake LOL that we all use…when truthfully we aren’t really laughing at all (but I digress).

To me, those laughs were a sign that I was again going to be dragged into the world of the ever growing Dombruso clan.  This time, we’re here to read Jessie’s story.  As those of you following along with the series will know, Jessie is the young man that Nana Dombruso hired somewhere along the way to be her chauffeur.  We all know though that he is actually more of a partner in crime!

I really enjoyed getting to know more about Jessie and his re-focus on his street racing activities.  But, when Jessie comes in contact with the other street racer driver, who he has been blaming for his near disastrous accident a year previously, sparks are going to fly.  Jessie is suspicious…there is more to that driver than he shows the world.  What will happen when Jessie looks behind the mask…and finds Kai?  What will happen is a typical Alexa Land read, where you will be caught up and carried through a fast moving story…and probably not released until the last page of the book…so make sure you block out some time!

This installment had it all.  Laughs, drama, and even some happy teary eyes here and there from this gruff old bear.  And Ms. Land wouldn’t be Ms. Land, if there weren’t at least a few openings for new stories.  She says at the end of the book who the next one is going to be about, and I can’t wait for it to come out.

I couldn’t more highly recommend this one.  Every time I read one of her books, I think it is my favorite yet, but it is hard to say…because I love them all.  (Did that sound adequately fanboy enough?)  Do yourself a favor and pick it up today.  One word of warning.  Ms. Land is EXTREMELY addictive.  You won’t be able to stop with just one book!  Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
