Doctor Leo Rotherham – Dark Warrior by Lily Harlem

Thank you for inviting me today and for hosting my new MM novel, Dark Warrior which is just out at Totally Bound and available from all good ebook retailers.

Dark Warrior is set in Kenya and stars Doctor Leo Rotherham and Malik who is a tribal warrior. Malik has just returned to his people after living and training to be a medic in Nairobi.

I’ve found that I also return to writing medical orientated stories. I’ve done this several times over the years and that’s because I have a nursing background. I find the lingo and the plot lines flow easily and need little or no research because the information is in my head. I worked in London in a trauma unit and saw many different things, some usual, some unusual.

But setting a story in Kenya required me to do some research, particularly in tropical medicine which is what Doctor Leo specialises in. Though he’s actually out there working for the charity Medics on Hand, providing basic care, vaccinations and education, he calls upon his expertise often.

What he doesn’t count on, though, is falling in love with Malik, who is a qualified nurse and also works in the village school teaching the children to read and write. Malik is a modern man, unlike the elders, and because he’s spent time in the capital he’s more worldly wise than most of the villagers.

He’s also accepted his homosexuality, but he keeps it a closely guarded secret, until that is, his feelings for the handsome new doctor who has arrived become too strong. Then he has to take a risk and make the first move. But boy, does his bravery bay off!

I hope you’ll check out Dark Warrior and take a trip to Kenya with Leo and Malik, they were great characters to write and have a lot of seriously sexy fun. Below is an excerpt to whet your appetite. Taken from when they sneak away together to finally have some alone time in a secluded canyon in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Oh, God, those words…from Malik’s mouth! Desire rushed through Leo. He walked toward Malik, the tip of his erection tapping on his stomach as he went. When he reached Malik, Malik planted his hands on Leo’s shoulders and exerted a firm pressure.

“On your knees, Leo.”

Leo did as Malik had requested, his kneecaps sinking into the soft, warm sand and his toes collecting a little pile around them.

“Hands behind your back.” From the tone in Malik’s voice, it was clear he expected to be obeyed.

Again Leo did as instructed. He adored the way Malik knew what he wanted—took charge. It was a breath of fresh air to be the one following orders for a change instead of giving them out.

“Keep them there, behind your back,” Malik said. He cupped Leo’s jaw in his palm and pressed his fingertips and thumb onto Leo’s cheeks. It was enough of a squeeze for Leo to be forced to open up, but he did so gladly, because Malik’s dick was just inches from his face and he couldn’t wait to taste it, draw it into his mouth and wrap his tongue around the glorious thick shaft.

“That’s it…open wide. I need you wide for my big cock.”

Leo stretched his jaw wider, until his temple joints ached. Malik’s hold on his face was firm. He tried to tip forward, speed things up and take Malik, but he found he couldn’t move his head.

“Yes.” Leo gasped.
